was one of 400 home-based travel agents in attendance at the 2010 Cruise Planners/American Express Convention held at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, November 10-13. For three days, Maturino, a Cruise Planners franchise owner based in Kingsport , TN participated in daily training sessions, professional development workshops and panel discussions with industry professionals and top cruise line executives to gain insight into the coming travel season.
Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Services Representative, the nation's largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, hosted the annual convention to prepare their agents to better serve clients by announcing new reservations management and marketing tools, releasing exclusive Cruise Planners consumer products to make traveling abroad easier and more convenient, and bringing travel industry
experts in to give agents news and information regarding new ships and itineraries, tour packages and hot new destinations to watch for.

Notable highlights during the 2010 Cruise Planners Convention were the agent-to-agent and executive team workshops as well as the panel discussion with top cruise line executives including Vicki Freed of Royal Caribbean International, Lynn Torrent with Carnival Cruise Lines, Camille Olivere with Norwegian Cruise Line and Dondra Ritzenthaler with Celebrity Cruises, among others. The convention concluded aboard the new
Celebrity Eclipse where Maturino was one of a select group to experience the
ship’s first U.S. voyage, sailing from Miami, Florida.
